Alan Hathaway has served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County Board of Directors since 2014. While his time on the board is coming to an end this year, his meaningful contributions behind the scenes will continue to make a positive impact on the agency beyond his nine-year term.
Hathaway is Owner and President of BrownBoots Interactive, Inc. His team at BrownBoots makes sure the BBBS website runs smoothly, especially for more comprehensive events like peer-to-peer fundraising during Bowl for Kids’ Sake and the online auction during The BIG Event.
Not only does Hathaway offer valuable knowledge in the digital space, but he also brings a full circle perspective to the team as both a past Little Brother and past Big Brother.
“It meant the world to me to know that there was a person out there that wanted to spend time with me. It made me feel wanted and worthy. So when I was asked to join the board it was an easy and instant ‘yes!’”
As a Little himself, Hathaway wanted to be an artist with interests in math, science, and frisbee. Now as a BBBS board member, he gets to apply his love for art, math, and science in the design and maintenance of the BBBS website. He even has a pottery studio and still enters the occasional frisbee golf tournament.
“I’m very excited about the current state and the future direction of BBBS. The organization has come a long way in the last nine years and the future is bright!”
