Tammy Young

Executive Director

tammy.young@bbbsfdl.org

I joined BBBS as the executive director in October of 2014.  I have a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from UW-Oshkosh and have over 25 years of work experience focusing on sales and marketing with an emphasis on volunteer engagement.

Many people have heard me say, “I love my job!” Big Brothers Big Sisters is a program I am proud to be affiliated with as it directly impacts the lives of local children.  I became a Big Sister myself over three years ago and it’s THE BEST thing I have ever done.  Will you make time to make a difference today?

Amy Docter

Executive Coordinator

I joined BBBS in October of 2022 as the executive coordinator. I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marion College, and 10 years of experience as a volunteer coordinator. I am excited to help coordinate BBBS fundraisers and ensure that things run smoothly in the office. It’s rewarding to be involved in something that makes such a difference not only in our community, but in the lives of local children.

My husband Mike and I live in Fond du Lac, but spend as much time as we can hunting, riding, and enjoying the outdoors at our cabin up north.

Jennifer Smith

Program Director

jennifer.smith@bbbsfdl.org

I have a Bachelor of Science in psychology and an associate’s degree in AODA counseling. I enjoy working to keep the children in our program safe and happy. I keep in constant contact with all members of each match and keep accurate documentation to ensure that everyone involved is getting the most out of our program. I also plan and oversee all match activities for the organization, and I am always looking for fun ideas to keep our matches engaged!

Lisa Warntjes

School-Based Program Coordinator

lisa.warntjes@bbbsfdl.org

I am the enrollment and match specialist for the school-based program at BBBS. I have a degree in psychology and enjoy working with the variety of people I meet every day. My job is to recruit and screen high school students, college students, and adult volunteers that will mentor a child during school hours. I keep in regular contact with each school-based match, the child’s parents, and teachers. It is rewarding to see how much a mentor can help improve a child’s attitude toward school and their relationships with both peers and adults.

Jennifer Leu

Marketing & Development Specialist

jennifer.leu@bbbsfdl.org

I received a bachelor’s in media studies and digital arts from UW-Milwaukee in May 2020 and found a passion for storytelling in the nonprofit world during the pandemic. As the marketing and development specialist at BBBS, I get to tell stories that encourage others to make a difference. Being able to hear and share match stories firsthand even inspired me to become a Big myself!

Sara Straub

 Recruitment & Match Specialist

 sara.straub@bbbsfdl.org

I earned a bachelor’s degree in social change and development from UW-Green Bay and have 12 years of human services experience where I’ve developed a passion for helping children and families improve their lives. It is such meaningful work to nurture Big/Little relationships and support them as they have fun together and create lasting bonds. Through regular contacts, I ensure the Big, the Little, and parent/guardian are all having a safe and positive experience with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

I’m also very excited for my new role as recruitment specialist, which affords me the opportunity to connect with a variety of individuals and businesses to help spread the word about our BBBS mission and highlight ways people can get involved.

My husband Chris and I live near Eden and have two children.

Jennifer Serrano

 Enrollment & Match Specialist

jennifer.serrano@bbbsfdl.org

I am very excited to be a part of BBBS as an enrollment and match specialist, starting May of 2022.  I have an administrative assistant degree and previously worked 17 years in the insurance industry, taking a break to raise my children. During that time I volunteered frequently in the school system with Girl Scouts, and had a leadership role with MOPS (Mothers of Preschool Students).

In my role at BBBS I will be helping Bigs and Littles to find their best match and following up with them as they get to know one another and grow in their relationship. I feel honored to play a part in making a difference in the lives of the Bigs and Littles in our program!

Jill Petersen

jill.petersen@bbbsfdl.org

I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s in elementary and special education. I have worked as a teacher in the Fond du Lac School District for the past eight years and joined BBBS in January of 2023 as an enrollment and match specialist. I love working with kids and have seen the need for positive role models in kids lives. I am so excited to help match Bigs and Littles and help to foster long lasting mentorships that make a difference!

I grew up and currently live here in Fond du Lac with my husband, our son, and our dog.

Abbey Bernard

Mentoring Specialist

I joined the BBBS team in August of 2024 as a mentoring specialist! I am currently enrolled at UW-Oshkosh working towards my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember, and it is my biggest passion. In my role at BBBS, I help do match support for our current matches along with working with our ready-to-be-matched kids to ensure they are included in our programming while they wait for their Big!  I am so proud to be part of such an inspirational team/organization!
