Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County is dedicated to serving children, families and the community by developing resourced, environment and mechanisms to provide a caring adult in the life of every child in need.
What is Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a voluntary program though which a professional support team oversees a mature, sincere adult volunteer in the development of a supportive, long-term friendship with a child. Often viewed as a recreational program, our greater mission or goal is fun and friendship, with an emphasis on the prevention or early intervention of potential difficulties that children may encounter or develop.
Recruiting, screening, enrolling, training and matching responsible volunteers with children on a one-to-one basis is done by the Enrollment Specialists at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Big Brothers Big Sisters works in conjunction with area schools, community social services agencies and other referral sources to better meet youths’ needs. The Match Support Specialists monitor and evaluate the progress of the match on a regular basis through required monthly contacts with the volunteer, child and parent/guardian.
